Study Aims
The aims of the research were two-fold. The first aim of the research was to add to the discussion on how generally effective teaching and culturally responsive instruction differ. Scholars in the field of education have been asked whether culturally responsive teaching isn’t ‘just’a form of ‘good teaching’ for years – and the answer still seems to be a topic of dispute. Our second aim was to create a database of video exemplars, showing culturally responsive instruction to facilitate teacher professional development. Changes during the grant period resulted in instructional exemplars in the form of written vignettes which you can find on this website.
